About the Cemetery

opened in 1839, Highgate Cemetery went into decline in the 1970s before being rescued by a charity, the Friends of Highgate Cemetery Trust

Our annual general meetings provide our trustees with an opportunity to report to members on the activities and achievements of the previous year.

The Trust

Founded in 1975, the Friends rescued the cemetery and have battled ever since to reverse the damage.

People

Friends of Highgate Cemetery Trust is run by volunteers, supported by paid staff and countless volunteers who do everything from guiding tours to helping maintain the landscape.
