HESI Global Stewardship Program

The HESI Global Stewardship Program, administered by the Board of Trustees, is a mechanism to ensure the high-quality, scientific content of HESI Global committee work products, encourage a continued focus by each committee on achievable objectives, ensure the best use of critical resources, and enhance HESI’s scientific credibility.

Review Committee Summaries

Each year in December, the Board of Trustees receives the HESI Annual Report. Board members review committee summaries for major achievements, pending changes, areas of intended impact, major concerns, and specific requests for support or input.

Review Committee Budgets

At the Board of Trustees meeting each January, Board members review committee budgets and determine the overall fiscal health of the scientific committees.

Focus on Overall Scope & Impact of Organization

At the Board of Trustees meeting each January, HESI Global staff present slides on each scientific committee, highlighting key achievements from the past year. Board members discuss general themes, trends in committee activities, strategic impact areas, concerns, and specific requests for support or input.

Confirm Portfolio Review

After reviewing the HESI Annual Report, the committee budgets, and the staff presentations, Board members certify via voice vote that they have fulfilled the Bylaw requirements of reviewing committees’ scientific, operational, compliance, and budgetary standing.

The Board of Trustees oversees the HESI Global peer-review process.
