We still have a handful of people we're waiting for confirmations from, but Lighting Round One raised $1, 778.83 NZD and $355.78 USD in v-gifts. So that is $1,678.51 USD and $2,264.28 NZD!

We are taking new offers for the auction for the next 8.5 hours, midnight EST US (GMT-5). Then there will only 24 hours left to make bids until we close this auction on Sunday March 13, 2011 at 1:00 am EST US time (an hour before our time change for spring!!)

We're very sad to see the devestation in Japan following so hard on the heels of the disaster in Christchurch. Our hearts go out to the people of Japan. Please go to help_japan if you can make another auction offering, bid some more, or if you can help them out with modding. They are going to need all of those things. Go be amazing over there! I'm doing what I can to help them get going and get organized, while still closing everything out over here.

And the Linwood College Orchestra in Christchurch is in rather desperate shape. Please consider donating to them.

We finally discovered what was causing the random screening of comments--it was our default privacy settings. It's fixed. \o/ Screening comments is still a problem. I reopened our support request. *headdesk*

We concluded our first Lightning Round and so far we've tallied $1,679.00 NZD ($1261.00 USD) and $260.10 in v-gifts ($345.00 NZD) for a grand total of $2024.00 NZD ($1521.10 USD)! We are still waiting to hear from some people where and how much they donated. WOW! You guys are awesomeness.

We've been a bit stringent about how to choose charities to include in this auction and so we could not include a women's organization. I've been told that violence against women is on the rise since the quake. If you can donate any funds at all to them, please consider it. The reason we did not include them is that they are not vetted by a site like charity navigator, nor are they internationally reputable.
