The call from his father for a hunt had been short notice. John had called the night before from the road explaining a werewolf situation not far from Smallville and Dean was all but in to help. Smallville was getting boring. The endless cycle of school had started to wear on his nerves after a month and he was ready for a hunt. Sam was a little harder to convince to go, but he grudgingly drug his feet.
Dean had to admit that even though he'd faced off with a werewolf before, it was a difficult hunt. The bitch just wouldn't go down easily. With his father and brother on either side, he had advanced on the werewolf, hoping to provide a distraction while his family took the thing out. Unfortunately, it wasn't that easy and the thing had attacked before his father and brother had a chance to let off their rounds. Dean thought he held his own pretty well. And in the midst of the struggle with the wolf, he caught something out of the corner of his eye. Something with blonde hair. Goddammit.
Then below him, the werewolf went still, reverting back to its original human form. He rolled off, trying to catch his breath and scanning the area once more, hoping that blonde hair he'd seen was just his wild imagination.
