Legislative leaders agree to delay the most harmful Medi-Cal cuts facing immigrant communities

The #Health4All coalition is now calling on the Governor to stand proudly with California’s immigrant community and approve the short-term protections in the joint legislative budget.

“We are pleased that the worst of the cuts have been delayed for California’s immigrants, but the fight continues into the final budget and beyond,”said Rachel Linn Gish, Interim Deputy Director at Health Access California. “A delay is one more day that someone can see a dentist, one more day that someone can get cancer treatment, one more day they can access lifesaving medication. But we can’t keep living in a boom and bust cycle where immigrant Californians don’t know if they will have health care this year or next. We will keep up the work to fully restore all the cuts that have been made and get California back to a place that truly provides Health for All.”
