The Innovation Think Tank (ITT) Health Entrepreneurship Workshop provided the perfect blend of hands-on learning and expert insights into healthcare innovation. Through this opportunity, our team developed an idea that increases access to maternal healthcare and obstetric emergency care in underserved communities. As one expert said, 'Innovation is not just about creating something new, itâs about solving real problems in ways that create lasting impact.'
Such collaborations not only facilitate knowledge sharing but also promotes capacity building for innovative solutions tailored to the regionsâ specific needs. Together, we can collectively drive forward-thinking strategies and implement sustainable health interventions that have the potential to transform healthcare delivery and outcomes across the region.
Snark Health was delighted to secure 1st place at the AMREF Health Entrepreneurship Hackathon. The event spotlighted pressing healthcare issues like access, cost, and the impacts of climate change across Africa. Snark Health is enthusiastic about leveraging emerging technologies to enhance patient experiences and outcomes. This includes innovating payment models to reduce patient costs and managing population health. Under the guidance of H2i leadership, particularly Mr. Paul, Snark Health refined their offerings and go-to-market strategies.
This workshop provided an opportunity to explore innovative and sustainable solutions to challenges in PHC and NCDs. I left with a renewed sense of purpose and clarity on ways to make impactful contributions to healthcare. Together with my teammates, we developed a solution to limited access to maternal healthcare services in some communities, by use of an application that integrates the emergency needs with the required information and transportation needs.
The program was thoughtfully designed to emphasize practical strategies and innovative technologies, encouraging us to approach pressing health issues with fresh, creative solutions. Guided by mentors in the industry, our team developed a tele-health blockchain based solution, for pediatric palliative care.
Our university provides an engaging and collaborative environment, that fosters knowledge-sharing. One such opportunity is the ITT workshop that exposed me to innovative strategies I can implement to improve health outcomes in my community. Together with my teammates, we created a solution to the high cost of healthcare in the country by developing a social system that would see a reduction in the said costs to patients.
