A neurodivergent, semi-speaking Speech & Language Therapist

What is it all about?

Welcome to hat.talks, a blog that shares my experiences of being an Autistic, ADHD woman and Speech & Language Therapist.
I’ve spent all of my life thinking I’m different and struggling with my mental health. I was diagnosed as Autistic at 26 and self-diagnosed ADHD shortly afterwards.
As neurodivergent women our voices are often dismissed and unheard. As a Speech & Language Therapist it is my job to advocate for the voice of people who aren’t heard, which includes myself!
As a semi-speaking person, my mission is to make alternative forms of communication just as valued as speech. Everyone deserves their voice to be heard, regardless of how that voice is communicated.
