We appreciate you taking the time to read these Terms of Use before using our Platform.
1. Introduction
These Terms of Use outline the conditions for using Handstree's Platform, defining your rights, obligations, and our responsibilities. By using our Platform, you agree to these Terms.
Handstree UG (haftungsbeschränkt) (“Handstree,” “We,” or “Our”): The entity responsible for operating the Platform and providing services.
Platform: Handstree’s website at https://.handstree.com and any related websites or applications operated by Handstree.
User (“You”): Any individual or entity that accesses, registers for, or uses the Platform.
Your use of the Platform is subject to these Terms of Use, which, along with any applicable special terms (collectively referred to as the “Terms” ), govern our services to you, including any demo registrations. To understand how we process your data, please refer to our Privacy Notice.
By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not use the Platform.
These Terms are provided in both English and Ukrainian.
2. Description of Services
The Platform connects Users with Social Projects through a transparent model. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue services at our discretion. Users are encouraged to carefully evaluate Social Projects and their activities on their own, as we do not guarantee specific outcomes or results.
Handstree is an innovative online platform designed to connect Users and Social Projects through a community model for transparent charity.
Our services ( “Services” ) include but not limited to:
Donor and Project Matching. Connecting Users with verified Social Projects based on interests, providing detailed project information, and progress reports.
Donation Management. Providing tools for tracking donations, sending acknowledgements, and facilitating the provision of reports by Social Project to Users on fund usage and impact.
Volunteer Events and Collaboration. Facilitating opportunities for Users to engage with Social Projects through organised Volunteer Events and collaborative efforts, enabling Users to contribute their time and skills directly.
Handstree may offer additional services to enhance charitable efforts and support Social Projects. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue any services at any time, with or without notice.
While we strive to provide comprehensive and reliable Services, we do not guarantee the success of any Initiative or the achievement of specific goals . Users should conduct their own research and exercise their judgement when participating in Initiatives and Volunteer Events.
3. User Account
To use the Platform, you must register an account, be at least 18 years old, and keep your information accurate. You are responsible for securing your account credentials and must notify Handstree immediately of any unauthorised use.
To use Platform, you must:
- Register with accurate, complete, and current information.
- Be at least 18 years old. Users under 18 can view content but need parental or guardian approval to create an account, participate in events as volunteers, or make donations.
- Confirm that if you are acting on behalf of a legal entity, you have the authority to agree to these Terms on its behalf
By registering, you agree to:
- Keep your account information up to date. Handstree reserves the right to verify the information you provide.
- Ensure you are not prohibited from using Platform and do not violate any of Handstree’s rights, including intellectual property rights.
- Do not create multiple accounts for the same individual or Social Project without Handstree’s prior written consent. Unauthorised accounts will be terminated.
- Maintain the confidentiality of your account credentials and be responsible for all activities under your account.
- Notify Handstree immediately of any unauthorized use or security breach.
Certain features of the Platform may require agreeing to third-party terms and providing a payment method.
4. Social Projects
Handstree collaborates exclusively with non-profit organisations. To register a Social Project on the Platform, follow a structured process, provide accurate details, and comply with legal requirements. Ensure regular updates and submit detailed financial and impact reports. The section below provides requirements for registering, managing, and reporting on your Social Project to ensure transparency and accountability.
Social Project: A non-profit entity, such as a non-governmental organisation (NGO), charity fund, or other non-profit organisation, that is registered on the Platform to undertake Initiatives and organise Volunteer Events.
Initiative: A specific fundraising goal or campaign undertaken by a Social Project. Initiatives may encompass community development programs, fundraising activities, and efforts aimed at achieving social good. This includes, but is not limited to, activities such as renovation, rehabilitation, military and defence support, shelter provision, and responses to war and occupation.
Project Team: Individuals or representatives responsible for managing and overseeing Social Projects. These include roles such as Founder, Administrator, and Editor, who ensure the effective implementation and progress of Initiatives and Volunteer Events.
4.1. Registration
To register a Social Project on the Platform, all members of Project Team must create personal accounts with accurate and up-to-date details. The responsibility for registering the Social Project lies with the Founder and/or Director, or an equivalent figure authorised to represent and make decisions on behalf of the Social Project. This individual will be assigned the role of Founder , which is the main role within the Project Team on the Platform. Other roles, such as Administrators and Editors, may be assigned to the Social Project’s representatives as needed.
To complete the registration, the Founder must:
- Provide all mandatory information and supporting documents as required by Handstree.
- Complete registration forms and communicate through the Platform and email.
- Authenticate their identity through the payment processing provider and submit proof of the Social Project’s registration.
Eligibility for Handstree requires Social Projects to:
- The Social Project must have been officially registered and in existence for at least six months before applying for registration on the Platform.
- Social Projects must comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Project Team members must be at least 18 years old or possess full legal capacity to enter into legally binding agreements, with proof of age and identity potentially required.
- Demonstrate transparency in fund usage and project reporting, including providing a clear budget and funding plan for any Initiatives.
- Project Team members must show the capability to successfully implement and manage the Social Project, its Initiatives, and Volunteer Events.
- Provide contact information for a guarantor (referrer) who has had a positive experience with the Social Project.
- Guarantee that the information provided to Handstree is complete, legal, and accurate.
Failure to comply with these requirements or providing false or misleading information may result in immediate termination of your account and removal of your Social Project from the Platform.
Handstree reserves the right to decline the registration of any Social Project on the Platform with or without explanation.
4.2. Verification
Handstree will perform due diligence and background checks throughout the Social Project lifecycle, including but not limited to:
- Confirming the Social Project’s legal registration, including its name, country of incorporation, and registration status through state registers and official documentation.
- Evaluating the Social Project’s mission, vision, operations, and previous successes, including its history, objectives, and achievements.
- Reviewing publicly available data about the Social Project, including its website, social media profiles, and public databases, to assess reputation and community engagement.
- Reviewing the Social Project’s compliance history on relevant platforms such as crowdfunding sites, social media, and regulatory databases. Past violations or non-compliance issues may affect eligibility.
- Assessing the background of founders and key personnel for alignment with Handstree’s mission and ethical standards, including professional qualifications and publicly available information.
- Reviewing each Social Project’s Initiative budget breakdown, funding requirements, and financial projections for viability and transparency.
- Validating the referrer’s experience and feedback through references and past interactions.
Handstree reserves the right to conduct periodic reviews of the Social Project and its Initiatives to ensure ongoing compliance with Handstree’s standards and policies. All due diligence data will be managed with strict confidentiality and in line with privacy regulations.
Handstree will notify the Project Team of any issues or discrepancies discovered during the due diligence process and will provide guidance on the steps required to address them.
By engaging with Handstree, the Project Team agrees to participate in the due diligence process and provide any additional information or documentation as requested.
4.3. Activation
After registration, Handstree will conduct a mandatory interview with the Project Team to review the Social Project’s details, objectives, and expected outcomes.
Upon approval, Handstree will send a confirmation email, activating the Social Project on the Platform and updating the project page to enable donations. The Social Project can collect donations for both its specific goals and administrative needs.
If not approved, Handstree will notify the Project Team via email, providing reasons and the opportunity to address issues or resubmit the application.
Once a Social Project is activated, the Project Team may create and manage Initiatives linked to the Social Project's page. Initiatives include setting specific fundraising goals, outlining objectives, and defining the scope of each Initiative. The Project Team may modify the Initiative’s goals, budget, or timeframe, provided that such changes are communicated to Users with an explanation. They may also end an Initiative early if the fundraising target is met ahead of schedule.
4.4. Management
The Project Team may create Initiatives and Volunteer Events linked to their Social Project’s page. Each Initiative must be registered with a detailed budget, supporting documents, and clear objectives. The Project Team is responsible for the successful execution of these Initiatives and Volunteer Events.
The Project Team is responsible for implementing and managing the Social Project, its Initiatives and Volunteer Events, ensuring they meet the outlined goals and objectives. They must maintain regular communication with Handstree, provide updates and reports, and cooperate fully during verification and review. Any significant changes must be communicated to Handstree.
4.5. Reporting
The Project Team must provide regular updates on each Initiative’s progress. Updates should be posted at least once a month or more frequently if significant developments occur.
The Project Team must submit detailed financial reports monthly by the 10th of each month, starting from the month after fundraising begins. These reports should include budget allocations, expenditures, and remaining funds specifically related to each Initiative.
The Project Team must provide a social impact report within 30 days after the end of each Initiative. The report should include key metrics and a summary of the Initiative's positive impact.
If a Social Project raises funds for the same purpose through other platforms or services, it must provide a comprehensive financial report covering the total amount raised, including funds raised through Handstree.
If the Project Team encounters any obstacles or significant challenges that may impact the progress or completion of an Initiative, they must inform Handstree promptly.
If a Social Project has no Initiatives or Volunteer Events, the Project Team is not required to submit reports.
5. Donations and Payment Processing
Handstree provides free access to the Platform for Users. Donations are processed securely via a payment processing provider, with applicable transaction fees. Donations are made voluntarily by Users and are generally non-refundable.

Access to the Platform is free, allowing Users to create accounts, register projects, and participate in community activities without incurring platform fees.
While the Platform itself is free, certain services, such as donations, may involve fees or commissions. These are applied to transactions processed by the payment provider.
Handstree does not require donations from Users; all donations are made voluntarily.
Donations are processed securely through third-party payment processors, such as PayPal, Monobank by JSC “UNIVERSAL BANK,” and others offered on the Platform. Users will be redirected to the respective payment processing page to complete their donations. Each payment processor may charge transaction fees, which are determined by the processor and subject to change. Users should review the terms and conditions of the selected payment processor for details on transaction fees. Handstree does not charge any additional fees for donations.
Users can make one-time donations and manage their donation activities through their account settings on the Platform, allowing them to follow and track their supported Social Projects.
Donations are generally non-refundable once processed. In exceptional cases, such as technical errors or fraudulent transactions, Users may contact Monobank’s support team for assistance. Handstree is not responsible for handling refund requests.
Users must provide accurate and complete payment information when making donations. Handstree is not responsible for issues arising from incorrect payment details. Users must also comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including anti-money laundering and anti-fraud laws, when making donations.
6. Volunteer Events
Volunteer Events are organised by the Project Team to involve Volunteers in activities related to Social Projects. Participation requires registration for the specific Volunteer Event through the Platform, and the Project Team is responsible for event management, safety, and reporting.
Volunteer: A registered User who participates in Volunteer Events organised through the Platform.
Volunteer Event: An event created by the Project Team to engage Usetd in activities related to Social Projects, including but not limited to community service, fundraising, and awareness campaigns.
Only the Project Team may create Volunteer Events. They must provide details such as the event’s purpose, date, time, location, required resources, and expected number of volunteers. All events must comply with applicable laws and Handstree’s guidelines.
Participation in Volunteer Events is limited to registered Users with complete and current profiles. To take part in a specific Volunteer Event, Users must register for that event through the Platform. The Project Team may set specific participation requirements for each event.
By registering for a Volunteer Event, Users commit to attending and participating as specified. If unable to attend, Users must notify the Project Team promptly. The Project Team is responsible for communicating event details, instructions, and any changes, including cancellations or rescheduling, to Volunteers. Volunteers should cancel their registration for the event through the Platform if needed.
The Project Team is responsible for the safety and welfare of Volunteers, including conducting risk assessments and ensuring proper supervision. They must manage resources such as supplies and equipment. Volunteers must adhere to event guidelines and instructions provided by the Project Team.
After the Volunteer Event, the Project Team must submit a report through the Platform, detailing the number of participants, activities conducted, outcomes, and any issues. Handstree may evaluate the event based on these reports and feedback.
7. Intellectual Property Rights
Handstree owns all Platform Content and provides Users with limited rights to access and use it. While Users retain ownership of their User Content, they grant Handstree a licence to use it for platform-related purposes. Any infringement notifications should be directed to Handstree. Users are responsible for independently backing up their User Content, as Handstree does not guarantee its preservation or backup after removal or blocking.
Platform Content: All content on the Handstree Platform, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, images, and software, which is owned by Handstree or licensed from third parties, and is protected by intellectual property laws.
User Content: Any content generated, uploaded, or contributed by Users to the Platform, such as project descriptions, updates, posts, and other materials created or provided by Users.
All Platform Content is the exclusive property of Handstree or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Handstree grants Users a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable licence to access and use the Platform in accordance with these Terms.
Users retain ownership of any User Content they create and upload to the Platform. By uploading or contributing content, Users grant Handstree a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable licence to use, reproduce, distribute, prepare derivative works of, display, and perform the content in connection with providing services on the Platform. This licence terminates when the User Content is removed from our systems.
Users must not:
- Copy, modify, or create derivative works based on the Platform or its content.
- Distribute, transmit, publish, or exploit the Platform or its content for commercial purposes without Handstree’s express written consent.
- Use automated means, including robots, spiders, or scrapers, to access the Platform without Handstree’s express written consent.
- Use the Platform in a way that infringes on Handstree’s or any third party’s intellectual property rights.
Handstree may revoke the licence to access and use the Platform if Users violate these Terms or engage in prohibited activities.
By submitting content to the Platform, including User Content, you acknowledge that Handstree may edit, remove, modify, publish, transmit, and display your User Content, and you waive any rights to object to such modifications.
Users are solely responsible for the content they create and post. Handstree does not endorse any User Content and is not liable for any content posted by Users. Users must ensure that User Content does not violate any laws or infringe on the rights of others.
If you believe any content on the Platform infringes your intellectual property rights, notify Handstree. Upon receiving a valid notification, Handstree will investigate and may remove or disable the infringing content. Handstree reserves the right to terminate the accounts of repeat infringers.
Handstree is not required to maintain backup copies of User Content after removal or blocking. Users should independently back up their User Content.
8. Prohibited Activities
Handstree reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts and may take legal action against violators. Users are encouraged to report any violations or suspicious activities.
Prohibited Activities: Actions or behaviours on the Platform that violate laws, infringe on rights, or disrupt normal operations.
Users must not engage in any of the following activities on the Platform:
- Violate any laws or promote illegal activities.
- Provide false information, impersonate others, or misrepresent affiliations.
- Promote hate speech, violence, or harmful content.
- Harass, threaten, or defame others.
- Upload or transmit viruses, malware, or other harmful code.
- Disrupt or interfere with Platform operations or networks.
- Gain unauthorised access to the Platform or other users' accounts.
- Use automated means to access, copy, or interact with the Platform without permission.
- Reverse engineer or disassemble any part of the Platform.
- Send unsolicited communications or solicit funds without approval.
- Engage in fraud or money laundering.
- Infringe on third-party intellectual property or privacy rights.
Handstree reserves the right to suspend or terminate any User account found engaging in prohibited activities, without prior notice and at its sole discretion. We may also take legal action, including reporting to law enforcement. Handstree can remove or disable access to any content that violates these Terms or is deemed objectionable.
Users are encouraged to report violations or suspicious activities using the Platform’s reporting mechanisms or by contacting support at [email protected] . We will investigate and take appropriate actions, which may include content removal, account suspension, or legal measures.
9. Termination and Suspension
Handstree outlines the procedures for terminating or suspending User accounts and Social Projects. Users and Project Owners are responsible for complying with these procedures to ensure minimal disruption. Handstree may take necessary actions, including suspending or terminating accounts or Social Projects on the Platform.
Termination: Permanent removal of access to the Platform or cessation of a Social Project, including the deletion of associated User Content and project details. Termination may occur at the request of the User or Founder, or due to non-compliance, misuse, or other specified reasons.
Suspension: Temporary halting of access to the Platform or a Social Project. During suspension, access may be restricted, and the affected User or Project Team must address the reasons for suspension. Suspension allows for the possibility of reinstatement upon issue resolution. Only the Founder of the Social Project has the authority to request a suspension.
Temporary Freeze: A specific type of suspension initiated by the Founder's request. During a temporary freeze, the Social Project page is archived fundraising activities are halted, but the project remains accessible for future reference. The Founder can request reactivation when ready.
9.1. User Accounts
Users may terminate their account at any time by following the termination procedures on the Platform or by contacting support at [email protected] . Upon termination, all personal data and User Content associated with the account will be deleted per our Privacy Notice, unless retention is required by law.
If the Founder terminates or suspends their account, it may affect their ongoing Social Project. Handstree will take appropriate measures to minimise disruption, which may include facilitating the transfer of ownership or suspending activities.
Handstree may suspend or terminate an account without prior notice if the User breaches these Terms, engages in prohibited activities, misuses the Platform, or if required by law. Suspended or terminated accounts will lose access to the Platform and its services immediately, and related User Content may be removed or disabled.
Users who believe their account was terminated or suspended in error may appeal by contacting support with relevant details and evidence. Handstree’s decision regarding appeals is final.
Accounts may be reinstated at Handstree's discretion, subject to compliance with these Terms and any additional conditions. If reinstated, Users may recover access to their User Content and data, provided it has not been permanently deleted.
Handstree is not liable for any loss or damage resulting from the suspension or termination of an account, including the deletion of User Content. Handstree reserves the right to modify its account termination and suspension policies at any time.
9.2. Social Projects
9.2.1. Temporary Freeze
Only the Founder may request a temporary freeze of their Social Project due to halted funding, the need for more time, or other reasons. To initiate a freeze, the Founder must log into their account and halt all current fundraising activities. Before freezing, comprehensive reports on funds raised, their utilisation, and the status of ongoing Initiatives or Volunteer Events must be published. The Social Project’s page and activities will be paused and archived but remain accessible for future reference. Reactivation can be requested by contacting Handstree’s support at [email protected] .
9.2.2. Suspension
Suspension may occur if compliance issues or significant discrepancies are detected during periodic reviews. Handstree will notify the Project Team of the reasons for the suspension and the steps required to resolve the issues, including a timeline for resolution. During suspension, the Social Project’s page and associated Initiatives and Volunteer Events will be paused.
If a complaint regarding misuse of funds is received, Handstree will communicate with the Project Team to resolve the issue. If unresolved, the Social Project’s page will be blocked from fundraising, and information about the misuse will be added. Before the Social Project page is reactivated, a final check will be carried out, or if issues remain unresolved, the Social Project may be terminated on the Platform.
9.2.3. Termination
Only the Founder may request the permanent termination of their Social Project’s page and activities on the Platform if the goals are met or if continuation is no longer feasible. This request must be made in writing and include the reasons for termination. The Project Team must cease all fundraising activities, close any active Initiatives, and publish final reports on fund utilisation. Clear communication with supporters and stakeholders regarding the reasons for termination is required to ensure transparency.
Handstree may also terminate a Social Project’s page or activities on the Platform for non-compliance with the Terms, misuse of funds, or involvement in illegal activities. A termination notice will be provided, outlining the reasons and necessary actions. A notice period of at least 10 working days will be given for potential disputes or clarifications.
If a Social Project is officially dissolved or stops operating as a legal entity, its status on the Platform will be affected. Handstree will assess the situation and may immediately terminate the Social Project’s page and activities. The Project Team should notify Handstree as soon as this happens to help with the process.
A final report must be submitted within 15 working days after termination, detailing the Social Project’s outcomes and providing a financial summary. The Social Project’s page and reports will then be archived and will remain accessible to donors for transparency.
9.2.4. Handling of Initiatives and Volunteer Events upon Suspension or Termination
During suspension of Social Project on the Platform, all associated Initiatives and Volunteer Events will be paused. The Project Team must ensure ongoing Initiatives are paused. Detailed reports on each Initiative and Volunteer Event must be submitted, covering the status of activities, financial summaries, and other relevant information to assist Handstree in evaluating the situation.
Upon termination of the Social Project page, all associated Initiatives and Volunteer Events will be removed from the Platform. The Project Team must conclude ongoing Initiatives appropriately. Final reports must detail progress, financial summaries, remaining funds, and activities conducted, including the disposition or redirection of remaining funds. Handstree reserves the right to review and audit financial transactions and reports related to terminated Social Projects on the Platform.
9.2.5. Reactivation
The Founder may renew a temporarily frozen or permanently terminated Social Project’s page and activities by contacting Handstree’s support at [email protected] . Handstree retains Social Project information indefinitely, allowing Users to review associated reports even if the Social Project’s is no longer active. There is no time limit for restoring a frozen Social Project’s page, and the Founder may renew the project page at any time through the proper channels.
10. Demo Services
Handstree offers demo services to potential and existing Users to evaluate the Platform or its new features. These services are provided solely for evaluation purposes and come without any warranties.
Demo Services: Temporary access provided by Handstree for Users to preview and evaluate the Platform or its new features, intended for assessment purposes only.
MVP Demonstrations: A type of demo service that showcases a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) version of the Platform, highlighting core features and functionalities.
Handstree provides demo services, including MVP demonstrations, to potential or existing Users for evaluating the Platform’s capabilities. These services offer a preview of the Platform, intended solely for evaluation.
To request a demo, you must use the Platform. Handstree reserves the right to accept or decline any demo request at its sole discretion.
During the demo, you will receive temporary access to certain features of the Platform. This access may be limited in terms of functionality, data storage, and support. Demo services must not be used for commercial or production purposes.
Handstree may terminate the demo services at any time, with or without notice. You may also end your participation in the demo by contacting Handstree’s support at [email protected] or through the Platform’s account settings.
Demo services are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. Handstree does not guarantee that the demo services will meet your needs or that they will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
11. Support and Complaints
Handstree provides support via email and in-platform messaging. Users can report complaints and violations through the Platform. Handstree will investigate and take appropriate actions.
Handstree offers support through various channels, including email and in-platform messaging, to assist Users with issues, inquiries, or problems related to the Platform. Users can reach out for assistance, and additional resources such as a help centre, community forums, and direct support from Handstree staff are also available.
If a User has a complaint regarding the Platform or its services, they should contact Handstree’s support team via email at [email protected] or through the Platform’s messaging system. Handstree is committed to investigating and resolving complaints in a fair and timely manner.
Concerns about Social Projects, including any problems or discrepancies, should also be reported to support at [email protected] . Handstree will address these issues by contacting the Project Team, reviewing the Social Project's status on the Platform, and taking necessary actions to resolve the problem.
Users can report violations of community standards or issues related to Social Projects through the Platform’s reporting mechanisms. Handstree reserves the right to take appropriate actions, including content removal or account suspension, based on its review.
12. Service Availability and Maintenance
Handstree may temporarily suspend services for maintenance or updates and will notify Users in advance. We are not liable for unplanned outages or interruptions.
Handstree may temporarily suspend services for necessary maintenance or updates and will provide advance notice via email, Platform notifications, or other channels.
Despite efforts to maintain continuous service, unplanned outages may occur due to technical issues or unforeseen events. We will work promptly to restore service but are not liable for any loss or damage caused by such interruptions. Users are encouraged to regularly back up their data.
13. Disclaimer of Warranties
Handstree provides services on an "as-is" basis and does not guarantee specific outcomes. All implied warranties are disclaimed, including those for uninterrupted or error-free service.
Handstree offers its services on an “as-is” and “as-available” basis and does not guarantee any specific outcomes or results from using the Platform, participating in Social Projects, Volunteer Events, or promoting them.
We do not assume any obligations to verify, alter, or control the information accompanying the Social Projects posted on the Platform. We do not guarantee and are not responsible for the accuracy, legality, quality, or compliance of such information with the specific requests and needs of Users. We do not guarantee that Users’ goals and expectations will be met.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Handstree does not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or that any defects will be corrected.
14. Limitation of Liability
Handstree’s liability is limited. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Handstree, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, and partners shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from:
- Your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Platform;
- Any conduct or content of any third party on the Platform;
- Any content obtained from the Platform; and
- Unauthorised access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content.
In no event shall Handstree’s liability for all claims related to the Platform exceed the maximum amount permitted by law.
