Arthur House is a nationally recognized construction industry advisor, mediator, and neutral with extensive experience in dispute resolution and construction management. He is a Certified District Court mediator and serves as a standing mediator/neutral in construction and business-related matters. Mr. House is also the founder and President of the Construction Management Institute of Maine and Miami, established in 2001.
With more than 45 years of executive-level experience in construction and engineering management, Mr. House has directed and advised on projects and clients throughout the Continental United States as well as internationally, including Hawaii, the Caribbean, The Bahamas, Turks and Caicos, Aruba, Costa Rica, Haiti, Venezuela, and multiple European and Asian markets, including Japan, South Korea, and China. His work spans construction management, real estate development, forestry, transportation, export logistics, and renewable energy sectors, with involvement in projects valued at over $2 billion.
Mr. House has held leadership roles as a principal owner/developer, owner’s representative, strategic business development executive, project manager, and internationally recognized construction and engineering consultant. He emphasizes comprehensive pre-project planning, risk mitigation, and dispute avoidance, while also providing expert mediation services for complex commercial and construction disputes.
In addition to his consulting practice, Mr. House has served as an expert witness for law firms in complex construction and business litigation matters. He is also experienced in eminent domain and right-of-way negotiations, assisting in the acquisition and settlement of land and easement transactions.
A dedicated educator, Mr. House has over 20 years of experience as an adjunct professor at the undergraduate and graduate levels, teaching courses in construction management, corporate finance, strategic planning, international business development, and construction contract law. His academic contributions complement his professional practice, integrating practical industry expertise with advanced business and legal instruction.
Mr. House has also contributed pro bono services in support of humanitarian relief efforts, including post-disaster reconstruction initiatives following the 2010 earthquake in Haiti. He is a member of the Maine Association of Mediators and is certified within the Judicial Branch of the State of Maine as a mediator and neutral.
