Overview of hackMHS X

Welcome to hackMHS X! We are beyond excited to have you at the tenth annual hackMHS, a hackathon where we aim to enable high schoolers to meet others, build amazing projects, and have a great time competing! We're excited to welcome a new round of creative minds, from a variety of backgrounds and experiences! We're anticipating some amazing projects, and can't wait for you to exceed our expectations. This Devpost is where you will submit your final projects at the end of the weekend. Visit https://hackmhs.com/ for more info, and feel free to look around the Devpost page as well!

DISCLAIMER: NO CASH PRIZES WILL BE AWARDED, rather the prizes provided will be of the value given "in cash" in the description of each prize.

Requirements

You may submit your project to one route only.

Valid project submissions must have all members on Devpost registered for HackMHS X. You cannot work across teams to submit multiple projects, as we expect all members to contribute to the final project! Although we encourage getting to know everyone and helping others, this is still a team-based competition and thus you can only have a submission as part of one team.

Please remember that these need to be ORIGINAL projects! Brainstorming before hacking starts is fine, but if you submit something that you have made beforehand, you will be disqualified. We will be checking for cheating. We provide 24 hours to work on your projects, which should be more than enough for all of you to create outstanding final products!

Judging Criteria

  • Originality
Original hackathon projects are those that stand out for their unique approach, creative ideas, and potential impact. We award creative ideas that show brainstorming and a well-thought-out design process!
  • Technology
Explain the software technologies, tools, and frameworks used to develop and run their hack. We commend hackers for their exemplary integration of various technologies and those who have a deep understanding of the technologies running their projects.
  • Teamwork
Explain the parts of the project that each team member worked on and why each team member worked on that part. We love to see high levels of cooperation and collaboration, and working together always leads to the best projects!
  • Presentation
Apart from the hack, teams must be able to display and pitch it in an effective manner, explaining the project itself, the inspiration, and the impact to various judges.
  • Product Potential
Teams should talk about how their hack can be integrated into the real world. We love to see projects with real-world applications that can be successful beyond just hackMHS!
