HackDTech's goal is to create stronger community among Duke Technology Scholars through a shared passion for technology. As a beginner-friendly hackathon, HackDTech is a low-stress environment focused on helping both first-time and experienced hackers create projects and learn new technologies.

Teams can choose to address a problem from one of three tracks. Each track represents a different community that DTech members are a part of, allowing participants to take on problems that are truly relevant to these groups and themselves:

  • Women Empowerment and Social Good: Tackle issues impacting social, economic, and professional inequality across a variety of identities including gender, race, income, age, and ability.
  • Duke and College Students: Code innovative solutions for problems that the Duke community faces in classes, on and off campus, and as a part of student life.
  • Connectivity: Create consumer-focused projects that connect people and build community.
