Our vision

Bringing people together to build homes, communities and hope. With your support, Habitat for Humanity Sunshine Coast bridges the gap for our local low-income working families by providing them with access to affordable housing. Families who partner with Habitat work alongside volunteers to help build their home. Our families pay an affordable mortgage geared to their income and contribute 500 volunteer hours. Our 2023-2026 Strategic Plan means that we will partner with more people than ever before.

Our responsibility of bringing people together to build homes, communities and hope means we need to do things differently. That’s why we’ve partnered with Will Power.

Will Power is a national movement encouraging Canadians to think differently about giving and leave a gift to charity in their Wills.

Did you know that by leaving a gift in your Will you can make a large and lasting contribution and still support your loved ones in the future?

Our Volunteers

Our volunteers are the backbone of our success. They work on a variety of projects throughout the year. From sorting and counting bottles and cans on the refundable team to lending a hand in the ReStore or in the office, and more!

Do you have a unique skill not listed above? We can help to create an experience that best highlights your abilities (whether that me administrative help, photography, videography, fundraising, event planning, building, etc.). If you are 16 years or older, you can click below to complete a volunteer application.

Affordable Housing

Helping a family realize their dream of affordable housing is simple. It’s as easy as donating your bottles and cans to our refundable program or donating your couch that doesn’t fit into your new apartment to the ReStore. By doing these small things, you can become a part of our mission, brining people together to build homes, communities and hope.

From building homes to fundraising, whatever we do, we do it together!

Families living with low income became new homeowners in 2024 by partnering with Habitat for Humanity in Canada.

Volunteers gave more than half a million hours of their time to Habitat in Canada and around the world.

People had an improved place to call home thorugh rehabilitating or building homes and community infrastructure in 2024.

People engaged in training such as construction, water, sanitation and hygeine (WASH), financial literacy, safe and healthy housing, and disaster and risk management.
