Who We Are

GUK Eye Hospital was established with a mission to providing low cost and high quality eye care services to the mass people of Bangladesh. This hospital was initially setup in Bogura and later on expanded in Dhaka and Dinajpur. The eye hospitals are well equipped with latest modern optics machineries & other technical hands, We ensure that everyone gets high quality service irrespective to their affordability. No one leaves the hospital without service due to want of money.

Gram Unnayan Karma (GUK) is a national level social development organization which was established in 1993 under the leadership of its founder executive director Dr. Khandaker Alamgir Hossain. Since inception, GUK has been performing various developmental and healthcare related activities in different districts of Bangladesh with the aim to socio-economic development, poverty alleviation and employment creation. Health risk and eye diseases have been identified to be a major problem among the poor and ultra-poor members and beneficiaries of the organization.

Currently we are covering many part of Bangladesh.

• Present we are covering Bogura, Sirajgonj, Joypurhat, Natore, Naogoan, Gaibandha,Pabna, Dinajpur, Thakurgaon, Panchagarh, Chapainawabganj, Dhaka, Gazipur, Narsingdi, Narayanganj, Manikgonj and Cumilla districts. The people of others areas are also receiving eye treatment from GUK eye hospitals.

Capacity and efficiency

• 80 bedded modern eye hospitals located at (i) Banani, Bogura (40000sq.fit space) (ii) Uposahor, Dinajpur (18000sq.fit space) and (iii) Uttara, Dhaka (20000sq.fit space).

Door Step Service in Remote Areas

GUK Eye Hospital organizes free eye camps in remote and hard to reach areas to reach the poor and mass people for providing eye care services in order to prevent and control needless blindness.

Free/Subsidized Treatment for the Low Income Segment

As a matter of policy GUK Eye Hospital is obliged to extend eye care services including surgery free of cost or at a subsidized cost considering the socio-economic condition of the patients.

Free of Cost Transport for Referral Patients

In course of treatment of eye patients if a poor patient is detected very critical and needs higher treatment in any specialized eye hospital in that case the management authority of GUK eye hospital refers that patient to the said eye hospital by ambulance free of cost.

Priority to Disable Eye Patients

During free eye camps (PSP) in different areas the team members give special emphasis on disable eye patients and bring them to GUK eye hospital by own transport for necessary treatment. In this case the disable eye patient is entitled to get all services including surgery, medicines, spectacle etc free of cost.
