The current Public User Interface, released in February 2026, replaced the existing site at findingaids.loc.gov. Users continue to access finding aids through the same URL, but now interact with a modern interface that aligns with the look and feel of the Library’s website. Users are still be able to browse by reading room/location, collections, subjects, and names, and the new platform will support additional functions such as advanced search and filtering, as well as the easy browsing of digital materials.

This resource guide is available to help you navigate the new system. If you don't find an answer to your question here, our librarians and program specialists are here to help. To submit a question, visit ask.loc.gov and select the relevant subject or service, or chat with our online experts.
