This research guide assists in finding sources related to Indigenous Studies, an interdisciplinary field grounded in the languages, histories, geographies, and contemporary experiences of Indigenous Peoples. X̱wi7x̱wa Library prioritizes Indigenous creators and content for our collection and our staff are well equipped to answer research questions on Indigenous topics. You can contact us for research help however you may also need to contact other relevant subject librarians

In her article "Who Stole Native American Studies?" (1997), Elizabeth Cook-Lynn suggests it centers on the two concepts of "Indigenousness (culture, place, and philosophy) and sovereignty (history and law)" (11). 

Getting started
