The Speaker Manager reports to the VP of Marketing and Events and is responsible for all aspects of speaker and VIP participation for the Marketing and Events (ME) Team. S/he is responsible for supporting the communication with speakers before, during, and after all Foundation events, inclusive of SOF Week.

Primary Responsibilities: The Manager’s primary focus is support of speaker coordination, communication, and successful participation in GSOF events.
- Serves as the GSOF lead for speaker participation in all GSOF events, including the annual policy Forum, symposiums, networking receptions, seminars, workshops, happy hours / huddles, luncheons, virtual events, and SOF Week
- Develop, send, and manage event attendee and speaker invitations
- Compile speaker biographies and headshots for websites and event program guides
- Update speaker details on a variety of platforms, including but not limited to: Impexium (AMS), individual event websites, internal and external calendars, marketing websites such as GovEvents.com, Social Media, etc.
- Communicate with event speakers; ensure they submit required information and are fully prepared for their participation; obtain speaker authorization for the release of their presentations as appropriate
- Support the development of event scripts or “run of show”
- Select, order, and distribute speaker gifts
- Create and host virtual webinars and meetings, as assigned
- Serve as lead GSOF staff for VIP and distinguished guests at events
- Maintain a database of potential speakers and speaker topics for future events
- Support in developing marketing materials in support of confirmed speakers
- Management of all speaker presentations
- Where needed, assist with other tasks in support of the planning, organization, and execution of all Foundation events
- Assist in setting up event agendas with speaker listing on all GSOF event platforms
- Other event-focused duties as assigned
Desired Experience and Characteristics:
- 1-3 years of experience in a relevant field
- BA, AA, or Certificate in Communications or Hospitality
- Background with Special Operations and/or Military Experience
- Ability to manage time and work remotely
- Ability to work with a dynamic and fast-moving team
Software Experience:
- Google Suite, especially Docs, Sheets, and Slides
- Canva
- Adobe Creative Cloud Products, especially Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and InDesign
- WordPress Site Development
- Microsoft Office 365
- SharpSpring or other Marketing Automation tools
- Impexium or other Association Management Systems (AMS)
