
CSM(R) Hank Marsh was born and raised in the Adirondack Mountains of Northern New York. Shortly after graduating high school, he enlisted in the United States Army. He went on to serve more than 35 years, 29 in Special Operations Forces. His final assignment was as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader to Special Operations Command Africa.
Toward the later part of his career the dream of thru hiking the Appalachian Trail emerged. As he began the transition to civilian life, he thought it the perfect time to head out on this cross-country adventure. On March 1, 2021, he struck out on this 2,193-mile journey. Five months later, August 11th, he summited Mount Katahdin in central Maine, the northern terminus of the Appalachian Trail.
Since completing the Appalachian Trail, he is dedicated to family and family events first and foremost. Beyond that he occupies his time with Apiculture (Beekeeping), speaking engagements, and hiking.
