Phil Szajda
With nearly two decades of experience in construction and project management, Phil Szajda has built a career around maximizing value, reducing cost, and promoting first-principle solutions. As the founder of GRIT Project Partners, Phil combines his strong technical and engineering background to deliver complex projects for clients and companies across the nation.
Phil’s expertise spans ground-up, asset repositioning, office and retail fitouts, hospitality, education, manufacturing, medical, multi-family, and transportation projects. Phil’s hands-on experience has helped him to integrate a wide range of competencies that help the projects he oversees to finish on-budget and on-time—starting from day one.
Built upon the foundation of his Mechanical Engineering degree from Rice University, Phil has cultivated a diverse range of skills that include site selection, feasibility studies, budgeting and financial analysis, contract negotiation, design management, construction management and most importantly, proactive communication with key stakeholders. Throughout his career, he has been involved in several notable projects, including the World Trade Center Transportation Hub and One Soho Square in New York City, and Anduril Industries’ headquarters in Orange County, CA.
Outside of work, Phil channels his passion for team building into coaching youth sports for his three children. The Szajda family's perfect Saturday includes taking the kids out for ice cream after a hard-played game in their 1992 Ford Bronco.
Whether he’s executing home improvement projects around the house or embracing the intricate connections of global projects and workflows that make up his day-to-day work for GRIT, Phil is happiest when the details of a project and the big picture of the plan are aligned and on-track.
