hello gorgeous people I know I have been missing presumed dead for a long time, I had full time-study and an internship and the strange idea that avoiding livejournal would make me more productive and it worked but it wasn't worth it man it wasn't worth it

I mean it's not like I posted regularly or barely at all but I guess I'm back and hey you should just drop in this post anytime and yell at me if you like

Y'all should tell me which songs to use. Just saying. Seriously, though. Make my choices for me, please. Because I'm a competent functional adult human being.

Also: I am not yet ready to read catharsis football fics. I realised this halfway through trying one. Ahahaha *screams internally*

Oh and I saw the Avengers yesterday, because of mob mentality and also because apparently Joss Whedon directing? I did not know that. Reporting back: Robert Downey Jr is still sexually attractive, Tom Hiddleston is still a gorgeous broken doll, Jeremy Renner's ass is still a wonderful gift to the world. I still objectify men relentlessly and apparently incurably. End report.

Things that are making me achingly don't-want-to-get-out-of-bed-ever-again miserable
  • university
  • work
  • men boys
  • football
  • my life
Things that are making me miserable but in a really good way

So I had a timetable clash that meant I might not be able to do the exchange program and the only real solution was to do a final year law prac course a year early, as in this semester, a course I have missed a week of and I have not done the prerequisite admin-law subjects for

and I knew there wasn't much chance but I asked anyway

and the faculty co-ordinator looks me up and down and frowns and bit and then goes "....you know what? Ok."

FUCK YES MY TIMETABLE IS EXCHANGE APPROVED

and then I get home and

Messi is an alien all over my laptop screen and

good times

I haven't posted here since forever and I didn't even realise, because I actually went and started typing out stuff about a dozen times, then realised no one but me could possibly give the slightest step-child of a damn about it so I stopped. And then the first week back at university, etc etc. I am so very not recalibrated for actually doing shit. Holidays, come back to me.

Also I am watching Boondock Saints now instead of studying, because irradiant is a lovable bad influence.

BUT NOW

TO THE POINT OF THE POST

I'm trying to wrangle a six-month university exchange, and while I'm aggressively/pleadingly emailing the law faculty co-ordinator to rearrange my subjects to make that possible, I've been running over the list of options that have a law-agreement with my university. (If this sounds familiar, I was gonna do it about a while ago. Then my parents decided to do the dramatic split thing, so stuff got delayed.)

Does anyone happen to know anything about: University of Leeds (UK), University of Copenhagen (Denmark), University of Mannheim (Germany), Utrecht University (The Netherlands), Lund University and Uppsala University (Sweden), Pace University
(USA)? Because I don't and wiki is providing me with interesting "founded in the 1400's" facts but not, like, any clue about if they're any good or in a fun place to live etc.

Frenzal Rhomb!!!!ONE! (They started the set with "Russell Crowe's band is a fucking pile of shit", which is clearly a classic song for the ages. Oh, boys.)

Jake Stone from Bluejuice definitely didn't get hugged enough as a child, and shouldn't climb stage rigging while clearly high as a kite. It makes me worry for him. On the other hand: vitriol.

Mariachi El Bronx! Are a mariachi band! From the bronx! Or something. I don't care, the music was awesome.

Boy and Bear play a surprisingly tight set but it's easy to send the lead singer in to gigglefits by yelling out what kind of sexual shenanigans you'd like to engage in with him.

Kimbra is eensy weensy teeny tiny and a little bit psycho and has a very, very beautiful voice live

The lovely Hayley from the Jezabels has, despite working from a considerable anatomical disadvantage, the best and most aggressively erotic hip thrust since vintage Elvis Presley

Architecture in Helsinki are my hipster princes(ses); they walked on stage in slow motion to the sound of Chariots of Fire, and halfway through their set they did a sort-of-maybe electronica dance cover of Bette Davis Eyes.

Soundgarden and Noel Gallagher are rubbish. Nero is epilepsy-inducing & overindulgent. Free energy drinks make me stupid.

I like festivals.
