On-set movie photos, as well as leaked photos, are always hard to judge. The product hasn't been touched up or enhanced to the level it will eventually be once it hits the silver screen, but even so they can create quite a huge response, like the recently leaked casting photos of the live-action Ghost in the Shell film. Now another popular anime and manga series, Bleach, is getting its own live-action film, and as it films in Japan, it was only a matter of time before the first on-set photos came out.
This week, photos have been circulating on Twitter and Japanese message board 2ch, that show Sota Fukushi in what appears to be his full Ichigo Kurosaki costume, toting around his iconic big sword. It looks like Fukushi will be sporting a more subdued hair color, but if there are indeed scenes walking around everyday locations like Sagami Ono station seen here, perhaps the movie will be trying to blend in more subtle appearances. Aside from, y'know, the gigantic sword.
Here are more photos making the rounds on Twitter. The movie is set to hit Japanese theaters in 2018.
