Cats and babies have pretty much made the internet their kingdom, with very little opposition. They laugh, cry, and do strange things that we can't explain but find entertaining. It's in their simplest moments, however, that they seem to be the most adorable.

Take these two friends, an 8 month old daughter and her kitten Eevee, for instance. They're simply dozing off together, but them waking up from a lazy afternoon nap provides a double-shot of cuteness.

The baby wakes up, not entirely sure what's going on--but as her mother points out to her that she has a cat nestled up against her, she slowly breaks out a face of lazy-Sunday satisfaction, and gives in to the cat's meows to pet her.
