Shima enaga, or long-tailed tits, are found only on Japan's most northern island of Hokkaido. A particular trait they have that separates the Hokkaido birds from other long-tailed tits is that that have completely white faces, which often draws comparisons to fluffy white balls, snowmen, and even Pokemon.

No matter how much you may want to, it's certainly not a good move to travel to Hokkaido and try and convert one into a cuddle buddy. Japanese online retailer and oddity shop Village Vanguard (who is no stranger to eccentric animal goods with their wearable tentacle plushie that turns you into an octopus or purring cat hats) is doing the next best thing, however, by introducing a giant long-tailed tit plushie that is just begging to be hugged.

The fluffy long-tailed tit plushies are a simplistic but surprisingly realistic representation of the cheeky bird's somewhat derpy expressions, as well as stick figure feat and signature tail.

The plushies are a collaboration with talented illustrator Piyotecho, and are currently available to order online from Village Vanguard in Japan.
