Everyone has their own story, and everyone is a part of a collective family history that goes back years and years. With Gramps, you can create your own family tree and track your ancestry.

Gramps makes it easy to save various details about every person in your family and the relationships between them. You can also save information on places and events. This way, all the information stays organized and makes searching your database much easier. This program includes a few different tools:

- Grampletes: This is a board that helps track the progress of your research by offering a quick analysis of the stored data.

- People: A list of all the people in your records with birth dates, dates of death, and other details.

- Relationships: A summary of the active person's parents, siblings, spouses, and children.

- Families: A registry of all the households with the names of the parents, marital status, and marriage dates.

- Ancestry: A graphical representation of the ancestry of all the active people with photographs, birth dates, and dates of death.

- Events: A list of events in your records with descriptions, event types, dates, and places.

- Places: A list of all the places in the database with place names and location details.

- Geography: An interactive map with highlighted places for each person, group of people, or all the people in your records.

- Sources: A list of reference sources and publication details.

- Citations: A list of all the referenced information used along with dates, volumes, and pages.
