Introduction

  • Designing an interface: start with a Low-fi wireframe (rough design). Once you decide what hard features to implement, move on to the Hi-fi wireframe (final design), where you add in color, specific design features.
  • Coding your app or website: Most projects in industry are created on a local repository and send to an online repository, such as Github. For long-term projects, this is a must, but if you’ve never had practice with using repositories, it takes a while to get used to. To get started right away, and not have to set up a repo or use the command line/terminal, use an online IDE
  • To get started: make an account, and create a new project! A website using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript the easiest and most straightforward option if you have no prior experience.
  • Creating pitch slides/or make sure you hit these points while going through your demo:
    • A problem statement-what are you trying to solve or address?
    • A description of your target audience
    • ⭐️ A demo of your website or app- make sure to show all your features (most important and should be the longest section)
    • Plans for future iterations or improvements
    • Thank your audience and answer any questions
  • Record your pitch (2-4 min):
    • Make sure you are in a quiet space
    • One person should screen record
    • Make sure everyone gets a chance to speak
