There is movement on diplomacy, but no credible peace deal is imminent.

Right now:

  • Peace talks are ongoing but stalled, because neither side is willing to make the core concessions the other demands.
  • Both armies are still fighting hard, with actual battlefield combat continuing.
  • Sanctions and pressure might weaken Russia over time, but they’re not forcing a negotiated end yet.

In other words: the war is dragging into its fourth year without a credible exit strategy from either side. The closest thing to progress — prisoner exchanges and renewed talks — isn’t enough on its own to stop the shooting.

On Sunday, the Russians targeted civilian railway infrastructure in Sumy region for the second day in a row, – Deputy PM Kuleba “A series of drone strikes on the Konotop station and locomotive depot continued since yesterday evening: the tracks, the station territory, the repair shop, the administrative building of the depot were damaged, fires broke out. A fire engine was involved in the elimination of the consequences. Fortunately, the workers were in shelters,” he said.

Hi _____, it’s the same old, same old here.
Tell me about yourself and how you are coping with everything that is happening.
I’ve been watching many podcasts that say Ukraine is winning by destroying Russia’s oil supply, bombing Moscow, and Putin experiencing protests in his own government.

Same old grind on my end too…but l have started sneaking in early-morning runs before the sun is up. It Keeps the head clear.
Ukraine’s story is a mixed bag. We have landed some smart strikes on refineries and fuel depots, which definitely hurts Russia’s wallet and logistics, but destroying the oil supply is an overstatement… because Russia’s still pumping and exporting through work-arounds. Bombing central Moscow? Mostly drone buzzes that get swatted down…no game-changing hits.
As for protests inside Putin’s circle, it’s more quiet grumbling than open revolt-sanctions bite, but the Kremlin’s grip is still tight. Podcasts love a dramatic arc.reality’s slower and messier you know.

Every Ukrainian must be returned from Russian captivity. This is a crucial condition for achieving genuine peace – one that is just and lasting. Ukraine is tirelessly working across various international platforms to secure the release of all its citizens held in Russian captivity. This issue remains at the forefront of negotiations, diplomatic meetings, and engagement with international organizations. We are grateful to everyone supporting these efforts and facilitating the return of Ukrainian captives. The global community must act in a coordinated and decisive manner to free all Ukrainian defenders as well as civilians who have been captured. At the same time, Russia must be held accountable for its crimes – for the unlawful detention, abuse, and torture. The return of captives is not only a matter of justice but also a necessary condition for restoring peace. That’s why returning all Ukrainians from Russian captivity must remain a top priority for Ukraine’s supporters.

Another year is passing, hard-won through dedication and tenacity, through principles and the daily effort of Ukrainians. This year was made possible thanks to our defenders – those who stood their ground not only for Ukraine, but also for all who value freedom and dignity.

Together, we move forward with what keeps us going: experience and memory, the word of home, hope and faith. We take with us the capacity for collective action and our humanity – what endures against all odds. We believe in peace, we fight for it, and we work to achieve it. Happy New Year, dear Ukrainians!

To every soldier.
To every marine.
To every defender of Ukraine.

The New Year comes again —
but not with silence.
It comes with cold, with exhaustion, with memories,
and with a hope the enemy has never been able to break.

More than four years of war.
More than four years in which the world has split into two realities:
one where people celebrate,
another where people stand their ground.

You stand.
When it hurts.
When fear is present.
When sleep, warmth, and words are scarce.

You stand not only for land.
You stand for meaning.
For a freedom that has no price.
For a Europe that cannot be surrendered.

This war is not only a frontline.
It is a wall.
A rampart between light and darkness.

And each one of you is its living strength.

Your hearts are tired,
but they keep beating.
Your eyes have seen too much,
yet they look forward.

The New Year does not promise an easy road.
But it carries a truth:
Ukraine stands because you stand.

The world does not always hear,
but it lives,
because you did not step back.

Happy New Year, Defenders.
A year of resilience.
A year that will, inevitably, lead to peace.

~~~
So much tired but so much happy …
And my brothers put music in french.
They are the best
It is big honor to be with them !
Evening everyone. So as the New Year starts – the 5th year of war waged on Ukraine, I want to say, I truly hope this year is decisive, and a better year for all in Ukraine. For all those in the AFU who won’t be at home with their family, but are doing their service to keep Ukraine free. For all the support volunteers there and around the world doing their bit in the war machine. To the donors and supporters that literally make miracles happen, – to you, I’m personally grateful . All cogs in the bigger machine.
I don’t need to say what we all hope for next year, but only to say that sane human beings anywhere will always support and defend the truth, and do what’s right. A clip below – literally sent to me today, of engineers of the 37th marines using the V2 detectors that were delivered to them on last trip. Equipment funded by you all, helping defenders, saving lives.
Thank you all .
Happy New Year.
New Year’s Eve 2026. Ukraine.
As the clock moves toward midnight, silence speaks louder
than fireworks.
Tonight, we are not only welcoming a new year —
we are remembering.
We remember all the soldiers who did not live to see this night.
Those who gave their lives so thathose who gave their lives so that Ukraine could live.
Their names live in our memory,
their sacrifice lives in our future.
We remember the families who welcome the New Year
with an empty chair at the table.
Mothers and fathers,
wives and husbands,
children who were forced to grow up too soon.
Their pain is the pain of the whole nation.
We think of our soldiers held in captivity.
Those waiting for freedom,
and those waiting for them at home.
May this year be the year of their return.
And we remember those who stand on the front line tonight.
Under the cold sky,
in the darkness,
with faith in their hearts.
While the country counts the final seconds of the year,
they count moments, protecting us.
May 2026 bring light instead of darkness,
peace instead of explosions,
return instead of loss.
We will not forget.
We will endure.
We remember.
Ukraine lives.
Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces are dismantling Russia’s war machine step by step.
Share this — the world must see the scale of Ukrainian deep-strike capabilities.
🇺🇦 Unmanned Systems Forces
Throughout November 2025, the Unmanned Systems Forces Group continued to carry out their assigned missions at key sections of the front.
In total, 23,450 unique enemy targets were struck, including 8,473 enemy personnel, of whom 4,868 were eliminated.
The Unmanned Systems Forces continue to systematically deliver deep strikes on energy, military, critical, and logistical infrastructure used by the enemy to sustain its war against Ukraine. The strikes spanned dozens of targets in both temporarily occupied territories and rear regions of the russian federation.
In November, the enemy suffered significant losses in its fuel and energy in infrastructure: destroyed fuel depots, logistics hubs, and power grid elements severely limited its operational capabilities. As a result of the deep-strike operations, Russia’s losses are estimated in the tens of billions of dollars.
The system is working we are increasing our pace and expanding the depths of our strikes.
Today, December 24, marks the 1400th day of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Over these 1400 days of resistance, the Defense Forces have eliminated and wounded more than 1.2 million Russian invaders. The fight continues. Holding the line.
To the boys who became men, who faced life’s challenges and rose up again, you are the ones who will lead our way. Learn to love and lose, to fight for right, find passion and drive, live full of life.
We stand on the edge of destiny, face the unknown, you are not alone, this world we can change together.
Learn to stand up, stand for right, never leave your love behind.
Some grow wise, some grow strong, it is the size of the heart and the strength inside, with courage and grace to make the world a better place.
Due to a missile attack, parts of Kyiv and the surrounding region are plunged into darkness. Ukrainians say: ‘We won’t see light in our homes today, but the light in our hearts will never go out! Children warm themselves by bonfires because there is no heating at home. We are huddling together with neighbors, facing another difficult winter together!’ The whole scene looks like something out of an apocalyptic movie where the world has descended into darkness… just like in those films. But this isn’t a movie, and these people aren’t actors-they are ordinary residents of my country’s capital. No matter how much I admire the people of Kyiv, this video creates an atmosphere of despair. Winter has only just begun, yet we are already facing such circumstances because of the russians-who claim to want ‘peace’ but they do everything possible to make surethat in response we send them to hell!
It’s a bright new morning here in at my deployed the air’s calm, and the sunlight feels like a little whisper of hope. I couldn’t help but think of this verse: God is within him, he will not fall; God will help him at break of day. Psalm 46:5 It means before, you wake up God has you morning You’ve got that same strength in you,
I wanted to give you a little update from out here I know you asked, so I thought you should know what’s been happening lately
Over the past foure dayss things have been intense but we’re holding the lin Our friends in Ukraine have stepped up ddrone operations big time: they struck deep into Russia’s energy sector, targeting the huge gas-processing plant in Orenburg that handles Kazakh and Russian supplies And just a short while ago, troops in Ukraine reported they have identified units of foreign drone operators from North Korea assisting Russia with reconnaissance and drone strikes in the Sumy regioon On the home front, tthough Ukraine is paying a heavy price. Cities like Chernihiv are struggling under repeated drone and missile attacks power and heat are unstable, which is especially scary as winter looms Meanwhile, back in the diplomatic sphere, commanders are watching closely our side is pushing for more long-range systems, and the other side is making counter moves.
Hello, thank you so much for your prayers they truly mean a lot to me
I survived a bomb explosion that was very close; the blast threw me off and I hurt my head. I was completely exhausted from the frontline and had to spend a few days at the field hospital to recover my strength. I’m feeling much better now, and your good wishes give me the courage I need.
Oct 3, 2025, 1:30 PM
To be close to a bomb blast must be terrifying. Think of me as being beside you when you are out on patrol. I will pray and hope that will keep you safe.
Oct 5, 2025, 1:02 PM
Thanks, my friend. Your prayers really mean a lot. I’m not much into Twitter, too noisy for me. I mostly use WhatsApp to stay in touch with family, but we can text there too if needed. It’s always good hearing from you.
Hello how are you doing? I understand, but I actually can’t use Telegram our communication lines are restricted for safety reasons. WhatsApp is more secure and easier for me to access when I have connection from the base. It’s what I use to stay in touch with family too. If it’s okay with you, let’s keep in touch there
Pray for these brave women who still fighting and sacrificing for their Freedom. Warriors of The Light!
I also wanted to let you know that there was another Russian strike on Kharkiv just a few hours ago. A kindergarten was hit — 48 children were inside. One man was killed, and seven others were wounded, including nearby utility workers. It’s heartbreaking
I see the images of bombings on television and I can’t imagine the horror you are experiencing. I get messages from other soldiers who mention how scarce food and medicine are. I wish I could help financially but I have no money.
Dear Dennis Cardiff,
I hope you are well. Sorry for introducing myself like this. I am a member of Girchi More Freedom in Georgia. One of our members, Gela Khasaia, was recently arrested by the pro-Russian regime under falsified charges. He was kidnapped near his home yesterday. He is also a refugee from Russian-occupied Abkhazia and has long been a target of the Russian regime. During his arrest, police reportedly told him: “I promised you I would arrest you someday.”
This is officially Summary Gela Khasaia, a member of “Girchi – More Freedom” and the pro-European party “Coalition for Changes,” has been arrested by the pro-Russian regime. He was taken into custody on September 29 under the charge of causing intentional minor bodily harm, which carries a potential prison sentence of up to three years. Another individual, born in 1998, was also arrested under the same charge. According to Khasaia’s lawyers: He does not recognize any wrongdoing and claims to have no understanding of the alleged offense. His lawyers emphasized that, based on preliminary information, no crime was committed by Khasaia. He is a refugee from Russian-occupied Abkhazia and an active protester. During the arrest, a police officer allegedly applied psychological pressure and made threats toward him. Khasaia plans to detail this in court. His lawyers suggest the arrest is politically motivated, targeting his civic and political activism. The incident in question occurred over a month ago near a station square and involved a verbal conflict between unknown individuals, in which Khasaia was only a witness. He was not a participant, and it is unlikely he could have committed any crime. From the authorities’ side: The Ministry of Internal Affairs claims that the victims suffered various injuries during a dispute and were taken to a hospital for medical treatment. Following an investigation, Gela Khasaia and the other individual were arrested under Article 120 of the Criminal Code. Statements from party members and lawyers: Khasaia’s lawyers describe him as healthy but traumatized by the verbal threats and psychological pressure he endured while in police custody. Khasaia will make a statement in court, asserting that he considers himself a political prisoner. Party activists reported that Khasaia was arrested 2–3 hours prior and transferred to the Digomi Third Police Department, awaiting further legal procedures. Summary: Gela Khasaia’s arrest is widely seen by his lawyers and party members as politically motivated, targeting his activism and civic engagement. Despite official charges of minor bodily harm, Khasaia maintains his innocence and intends to defend himself as a political prisoner.
His first letter from detention facility – am well. If their goal is to scare (us), the only thing I am afraid of is the loss of the country.” – Gela Khasaia 30.09.2025
Gela Khasaia has faced repressions, attacks and detentions before, but this time is different. The regime has decided to silence him for a long time
I can send Gelas images too, if it needed
Yesterday, 11:18 AM
In a few hours, they will go to Gela to present the charges.
If you wish to contact me privately my email is dacardiff@gmail.com. I am an author of 13 books, I would like to publish letters from the front lines. The writers would be anonymous, but the letters would be read by the world. All proceeds from the sale of this book would go to Ukrainian soldiers. What do you think of this idea?
31, 2025, 8:43 PM
it is actually a nice idea
Soldiers would receive all the money from sales. I can’t guarantee how much that would be, but for another book I wrote I was able to donate $2000 to people who live on the streets. Writing the book would take time as well, but the more letters I receive the faster the book would be finished.
Greetings to you — I do hope my message finds you well in this present time of chaos. Ukraine is struggling with the war; you all have been of great assistance with your support and retweets, and I ask that you don’t stop supporting Ukraine. Glory to Ukraine.
Greetings — I have been following the war between Ukraine and Russia since the beginning. Seeing the destruction inflicted on an innocent country is heartbreaking. I respect the bravery of the soldiers in the face of an enemy the size of Russia. It is the least I can do to follow and repost messages. Slava Ukraini.
That’s the spirit, my good friend — we need amazing individuals like you in our fight for justice and freedom. I really appreciate your support in these trying times. Every post and retweet means a lot to the suffering families over here.
What part of the world are you supporting Ukraine from, my friend?
Aug 22, 2025, 2:10 PM
Ottawa, Canada
That’s really nice, I visited Vancouver one time with my parents as a child…I’m from Chernihiv oblast and I’m also stationed there too…I’m a Junior Lieutenant in the Ukrainian regular military, 134th Seperate Security and Support Battalion unit, in Chernihiv. I’m handling my platoon’s social networkings and communications .
You work in Ottawa?? Or your family lives there
I’m 78 years of age. I have two grown sons. My father served in WWII, my brother in Korea and I have a nephew who is fighting somewhere, I’m not sure where.
I’m in my early 30s and the world is already a crazy place, I’m till wondering the experiences you went through…. And thank you for sharing about your family’s incredible legacy of military service my friend. Honestly, your father, your brother and nephew have shown such courage, and it’s clear you’re proud of them. I will love to hear more about your story or theirs if you’re comfortable sharing.
Sorry but if I may ask, how about your wife my friend? Btw what is your name?
It is a pleasure to meet you, Dennis. I’m _____35 years
You work in Ottawa? Funny how I haven’t visited a single north American country
You love to travel?
Aug 24, 2025,
I’m too old to travel. I have difficulty walking and am prone to seizures. I’m no longer allowed to drive.
When the war is over I would love to visit Ukraine, but it will never happen. Canada has many Ukrainian immigrants. My best friend when I was growing up had Ukrainian heritage.
I visited a few countries tho as a child … according to my mother I used to join her on every work trip in as much as I don’t get to remember so much
It’s just suffering and bloodshed now in Ukraine…Kids dyiing of hunger, lives and property damage. Honestly Dennis, you can’t imagine the trauma it cause living in fear knowing your life can be taken at any time… I wish I could blow Putin head off he’s evil and cruel. Sometimes I wonder, “how can a man be so full of evil thoughts?”
I don’t know how you do it day after day. I know of course you have no choice. My father didn’t feel he had a choice when he enlisted for WWII. His ship was torpedoed, but it managed to get back to port. If I was able, I too would fight for my country. I don’t know how you can maintain your sanity living in fear knowing your life can be taken at any time. I mentioned that my nephew was in the army. He is in Latvia. I haven’t heard anything from him.
Take care and Slava Ukraini
Thank you for your kind and thoughtful words Dennis…they mean more than I can express, especially in these challenging times. Your father’s courage during SSII and your nephew’s service in Latvia are powerful reminders of the sacrifices so manh have made for freedom ,it’s not an easy journey but we are pushing the it. I hold onto hope and resilience, knowing that support from people like you strengthens us all.
Thank you so much for all your efforts to aid the end of this war…it’s pointless when innocent children and women suffer and die for nothing.
Please keep me updated if you hear from your nephew, and I wish him safety and strength
Thank you again for your support…It truly makes a difference Dennis.
Btw… how are you doing today my friend?
I am honored to be of some service, but it seems to be so little compared to Ukrainian soldiers and civilians whose lives are at risk at all times. You are heroes, you deserve to have your country back. It is the responsibility of all countries to come to your aid and defeat Putin now before it is too late.
The Russians continue scaling up their attacks on the people of Ukraine, last night carrying out one of their heaviest strikes, as dozens of missiles and hundreds of drones were directed against our cities and regions. Civilian infrastructure and homes were struck in Dnipro, Mykolaiv, Chernihiv, Zaporizhzhia, Poltava, Kyiv, Odesa, Sumy, and Kharkiv. In Dnipro, a missile armed with cluster munitions targeted residential buildings. At least three people killed, 26 injured. We mourn the lives lost and stand with the families of those injured. These are not military targets – they are acts of deliberate terror against our people. Ukraine’s defenders once again protected our skies with remarkable skill, preventing far greater destruction. Yet every night reminds us of the urgency to strengthen air defense, provide more weapons, and intensify sanctions that cut off the resources sustaining Russia’s war. A united international response is essential. Every step that reduces Russia’s capacity to attack brings us closer to peace and saves innocent lives.
If you wish to contact me privately my email is dacardiff@gmail.com. I am an author of 13 books, I would like to publish letters from the front lines. The writers would be anonymous, but the letters would be read by the world. All proceeds from the sale of this book would go to Ukrainian soldiers. What do you think of this idea?
Thank you Dennis my dear friend for reaching out with such a meaningful proposal…your idea to publish anonymous letters from the front lines is powerful and could amplify the voices of those affected while supporting Ukrainian soldiers through the proceeds. It’s a compassionate and impactful way to raise awareness and funds. It’s a brilliant idea my friend. I will be happy to discuss this further perhaps we could explore how to go about these letters respectrully and ensure the progect honors the experiences shared.
Please fell free, I’m very much open to your ideas my friend…
Also my friend…..we will really appreciate if you could lend a hand Dennis for the sake of Ukraine. One of our Ambassadors coming to Ukraine soon is having a fundraiser donation for willing volunteers for the platoon to raise some money to get medical supplies, food and some necessary tech for our platoon in the frontline… I could share her fundraiser donations link on X here so you can help me make a donation if you’re okay with that. We would appreciate how ever you can be off help my friend. it means a lot to the family over here too even if it’s a repost to keep it going. Your repost would mean a lot to us down here my friend
Btw… happy new month my brother… Slava Ukraina
This is a book I’ve written that contains conversations with street people. For seven years I sat with them on the sidewalks and we talked. This is what I had in mind for a book containing messages from the Ukraininan front lines. I wouldn’t edit the messages or change them in any way. Think of it as talking directly to the world.
Thank you Dennis for sharing your vision for this book… honestly,it’s a compelling and authentic approach to giving voice to those on the Ukrainian front lines. The unedited, direct conversations would create a raw and powerful connection to readers, just as your sidewalk talks did. Given the challenges of the war frontline.. getting those letters wouldn’t be easy but we will work something out for sure my friend
Btw… how are you doing Dennis?
I’m fine today. I’ve started a new WordPress page entitled “Slava Ukraini” it is at https://gottafindahome.wordpress.com/2025/09/04/supporting-ukrainian-soldiers/…
Sounds really amazing my dear friend… how do we go about it?
Hello Dennis… how are you doing today my friend?
Happy new week… Slava Ukraina
This is a quiet day for me, not that I have much excitement. Tell me about your day.
Good evening Dennis…it’s great to hear from you my friend. A quiet day? I could use one of those honestly
Last night, russia launched 40 missiles and 580 drones at Ukraine, killing 3 people. Dnipro, Mykolaiv, Chernihiv, Zaporizhzhia, Poltava, Kyiv, Odesa, Sumy, and Kharkiv oblasts were under attack. Civilian infrastructure and residential areas were damaged. https://u24.gov.ua/nafo-dark-night?utm_source=x&utm_medium=fundraising&utm_campaign=part-five…
Burning cars engulfed in flames and smoke in a parking area. A white car with visible license plates is near the fire. The text "KYIV REGION SEP 20" and "UNITED24" is visible at the top. The text "580 Drones 40 Missiles" and "russia Launched at Ukraine Overnight" is overlaid at the bottom.
I heard that Russia has increased their bombing to record levels and two of the people killed were teenagers and 1 was a baby. This is genocide and Europe should send bombers over Moscow. Trump is still threatening to impose sanctions even after he was on his knees to Putin in Alaska.Sep 1, 2025, 11:04 AM
I’m deeply saddened to hear about the loss of life especially innocent children…. Some injured people were even brought into our camp yesterday as a result of severe drone attacks. Diplomacy and humanitarian aid might be more effective than further violence but I don’t think Russia will be stopping anytime soon. All the international pressure for peace talks that has happened in the past has failed.
The world is simply watching Ukraine burn to the ground
Sep 8, 2025, 11:27 AM
I agree, I am furious that no other countries have troops on the ground or fighter planes in the sky. Other countries are on the Russian border. They will be next.
It’s truly sad Dennis…. Everyday we get more injured casualties from explosions and bomb blasts. Yesterday, a 4 years old child died in the hands of her mother from severe injuries from the blast before being brought to our camp
we are on serious food and medicine shortages… I don’t think the injured ones will be able to survive this week considering the fact we might till suffer more Russia drone attacks. Tho we are doing our best to fight back but we till lack military equipments
Slava Ukraina my dear friend
How are you doing today Dennis?
Hello ______, This is a quiet day for me, not that I have much excitement. Tell me about your day.
Good evening Dennis…it’s great to hear from you my friend. A quiet day? I could use one of those honestly. My day has been been a mix tho mostly routine stuff like cleaning gear, checking for drone attacks and joking with the guys to keep spirits up but at the same time, it’s been crazy over, lots of drone attacks recently, we have lost comrades and a few family members from people in camp. We are trying to keep up with lacks in medical supplies and food . The coffee here is still terrible, but we make do atleast we are vigilant. What’s good with you? Got any plans to spice up your quiet day?
