SO. It's been forever and eternity since I posted here last. Since then, lots has happend. I've also decided to start posting with my signature name with miniblondeone.

I know it's a pain, but I'd really appreciate it if you could follow me there. I really need to improve my writing skills, so will be posting much more. I'm also getting back ino icon making. which is proving tricky but still a good challenge. What used to take me minutes to do I end up spending half the night doing. It's turning out to be a good challenge.

I'll mostly be talking about food, fashion and my media studies at uni and other things. So, similar to what's been going on here, but more refined. ;-)

You've probably noticed I've been quiet here on livejournal lately. I've been trying to cut down over-sharing and blind panic entries. I've been posting a lot at my blog, on my twitter and on my facebook (actually, I've cut down a lot on facebook).

I pretty much only come to my livejournal whenever I need a tutorial for some graphics things I have saved in my memories section.

But the most important things you need to know are:

I need a domain name for my blog. When I apply for jobs and provide them my domain name it should be something other than miniblondeone1.blogspot.com as that isn't very professional. I want something that suits me, is a wee bit quirky and doesn't include my real name or my twitter name (miniblondeone). I want to keep them seperate.

I don't want anything mentioning cupcakes. I don't want my blog to be limited to cupcake stuff.

I need it asap. Sadly missrose.com.au is taken. :-(

Any suggestions are welcome.

As some of you may know, I really don't like the work I do at my job. For those who don't, imagine doing records (filing, sorting filing and then doing shit on the computer to the files) for about 8 hours a day. Every day. It's soul crushingly boring.

I have decided that next year when my contract expires at work in June, I am going to go to university and get myself a proper God damned degree. I've been wanting to do the web site stuff for YEARS. I hate the coding part though. lols. I just like playing around in Photoshop making pretty things. I like designing a website based on someone's brief and then making it real. I like making something real for someone when they have no idea what they want.

I also want to do something with an online store. I'm always frequenting fashion blogs and stores so think I would like to work with one of those. Either design it or maintain it WHICHEVER I don't care, that's what I want to do.

So I'm going to uni. I DO have a Cert in I.T. and a Dip in Multimedia but they were done 10 years ago (2001-2003) and let's face it, the web has changed heaps since then. I NEED to gsin useful skills. Then I'm going spastic and applying for EVERYTHING. Even if it means I get to move overseas and live in Berlin or something and do graphic/web site stuff. Don't care - as long as I'm not sitting around filing all day when I'm 32. I hate it. I wake up in the morning and don't want to go into work. Every day. I like the people, the place and the pay but not the work. It's not making me happy and I'm making a lot of mistakes at work cos of it.

I am considering doing an Internet Communications degree. But that is only online. I want something more physical. I like the look of the Diploma of Graphic Design at RMIT but that's full time for 2 years. I CAN'T DECIDE.

The main reason why I never ended up doing anything webby professionally was I was scared. I wasn't confident in my ability. Then travel got in the way. Then I wound up getting filing and admin jobs and once you've been doing that for 6 years people don't believe you when you say you want to do web design. So, frustrating!

But at least I know what I want to do. That's a big step from 6 months ago.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

the good things about this marathon: don't have to get up and change discs, and as I'm watching it all the way through, there are SO MANY really cute, sweet bits in this series that I never see, and I keep finding new stuff in each episode.

I AM SO MUCH HAPPIER THAN I HAVE BEEN IN MONTHS. EVERYTHING ELSE I WANT TO DO SEEMS A LOT MORE POSSIBLE NOW THAT I DON'T HAVE THIS HUGE DEBT WEIGHING ON ME.
IT ALSO HELPS I DON'T HAVE MY MOTHER NAGGING ME ABOUT IT!!!!!

I can't move out until the end of June when I find out if my contract at work is extended for another 12 months. There is a 90% chance it will be as we are short staffed (high turnover). Then I can move out and save for the U.K. in October (yeah, I scrapped the USA - I miss my mates!!!) This is actually good because it means I can save as much as I've got until then so I have emergency money.

TO SUM UP: EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
