Since 2005, the Gluten Intolerance Group (GIG) has been the leader in gluten-free food safety, working with manufacturers and food service operators across the globe through its GFFS and GFCO programs.
GIG’s NEW Chef to Plate (CTP) program is a partnership with food establishments that offer gluten-free menu options. Initially launched in 2008 as a directory for such locations, the Chef to Plate program is now being revitalized with stricter standards to ensure CTP venues meet key criteria for safe gluten-free food.
GIG is committed to ensuring that dining out is stress-free for those living gluten-free. Through our Chef to Plate program, we connect diners with restaurants serving safe gluten-free options. By teaming up with safe restaurants, we’re building a community where finding gluten-free meals is easier. Together, let’s make dining worry-free and fun for all!

Criteria for Chef to Plate Participation
Have plans implemented for safe production, service, and display practices for gluten-free options.
Have an established method for verifying the gluten-free status of ingredients and menu options.
Provide a dedicated space and equipment (where necessary) to prevent cross-contact with gluten.
Use proper identification for gluten-free options, avoiding terms like “gluten-friendly,” or “celiac safe”.
Handle all gluten-free orders with the same level of care, without asking questions like “is this a preference or an allergy?”
Ensure there is a way for guests to easily identify that their meal is gluten-free.

*By applying and completing the registration process, you consent to be considered for inclusion in our Chef to Plate Gluten-Free Awareness Program. Please note that completion of registration does not guarantee inclusion. Once accepted, the agreement will remain valid until the end of the calendar year. Should changes be made to your gluten-free menu or practices, please notify GIG promptly. GIG reserves the right to conduct secret shopper visits to ensure that the established criteria continue to be met. It’s important to note that this program is not related to the Gluten-Free Food Service Validation Program, which is a certification program with higher standards and an annual audit.
