This just overrides one tiny setting in Bootstrap, and the result is images can be wide than the post width:

Actually there is a point where it's too much. Here's the max:

I think I like it more when it's constrained to the width of the column. Perhaps there's another way to show a larger picture without clicking on the link. Like some kind of very fast Lightbox or zoom type feature

Yeah this is a +1 from me now that I have grown accustomed to it. I shouldn't be making design decisions anyway. o_O
