This has to do with issue: #63

Files should be checked for anything i might of missed before being pulled.

I did a test before commiting heres the steps i used:

  1. Pulled fresh master from /alexweissman/Userfrosting
  2. Installed as usual
  3. grabbed the upgrade directory from this pull request (/lilfade/Userfrosting/upgrade/)
  4. Ran upgrader http://localhost/upgrade/ (since the repo does not contain the versions.txt you need to change which repo to use in get_version.php on line: 5 from alexweissman to lilfade this is only until the pull is merged to the master repo.)
  5. once done made files changes
  6. worked for me just fine after this.

Some things to note: this is only made for 0.2.1 -> 0.2.2 if coming from 0.2.0 i did not factor the changes in as of yet but we could potentially do this as well i dont for see going from 0.1.7 -> 0.2.2 a good idea due to the massive changes that happened.

Any thoughts?

I agree, 0.1.7 differs substantially from the newer versions (that was the last version before butterflyknife, right?)
0.2.0 might not be as difficult, but I'm not sure how many people are still using that version. I'd say, don't worry about it unless someone specifically requests it and you feel like doing it ;-) The important thing is that now we have a framework for updating to future releases.
