Following the tutorial, I got to the final step: To demo the app, simply send the bot a message that says "start". And then, the app will post a new message in the same channel.

When I send the bot a direct message, I don't get a response or any messages logged to the console.

However, when I followed the steps from this closed issue and did the following, the bot responded in the channel.

• Go to a public channel in the app's development workspace
• Run /invite @pythontutorialapp
• Post a message

Did I do something incorrectly? Should I be able to send the bot a direct message of "start" and get a response, or was I reading the instructions incorrectly?
