Summary of Changes
Hello @zhyncs, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!
I've updated the project's dependencies by upgrading the "transformers" library to its latest version, 4.55.0. This is a routine maintenance update to ensure compatibility and leverage any improvements or bug fixes in the newer version of the library.
Highlights
- Dependency Upgrade: The "transformers" library has been upgraded from version 4.54.1 to 4.55.0 within the "python/pyproject.toml" file.

Code Review
This pull request upgrades the transformers library from version 4.54.1 to 4.55.0. While this is a minor version bump, I've identified a potential risk. The codebase uses a private attribute from the transformers library, which is not guaranteed to be stable across versions. This could lead to unexpected breakages. I've added a comment highlighting this specific risk.

This upgrade could introduce breaking changes because our TransformersForCausalLM implementation relies on internal, non-public APIs of the transformers library. Specifically, python/sglang/srt/models/transformers.py uses self.model._tp_plan, which is a private attribute and can be changed or removed without notice in new versions. This poses a significant maintainability and correctness risk, as it could break tensor parallelism support. It would be safer to find a public API to get this information or add extensive tests covering this functionality to catch potential breakages from this and future upgrades.
