See #11562

Some of the warnings were due to the dotproduct kernel's bound which was from 0, and needs to be > 0.

For the negative variance issue, I've opened issue #11663, therefore this doesn't fix the issue.

yes, it makes it a lot better actually, it just doesn't fix the issue entirely.
