Hi,

Following from #10410 discussion:

Steps to reproduce:

This requires add-ons to be disabled and one must be running Windows 10 Version 1803 or later:

  1. Open Settings (Windows+I).
  2. Navigate to System/Sound.

Actual behavior:

Progress beep for output/input is heard.

Expected behavior:

No progress beep.

Alpha.18986

Windows version:

Windows 10 Version 1909

Does the issue still occur after restarting your PC?

Yes

Have you tried any other versions of NVDA? If so, please report their behaviors.

Yes - 2019.2.1 and 2019.1.

Technical information:

This is caused by volume meter progress bar, which should not have been a progress bar in the first place. A fix is included in Windows 10 App Essentials add-on.
