A clear and concise description of what the problem is:
I’ve noticed that we have a contributing guide here , but it's not easily discoverable for new contributors. As a result, contributors may not be aware of the guidelines and best practices we’ve set for the project.

What solution do you propose?

I suggest adding a link to the file in the README.md of the Notation repository. This will make it easier for new contributors to find the guide and follow the necessary steps when contributing to the project.
