I finally had a chance to review the code. I think this needs to be implemented as more a general handler. That is, we could implement a handler that reads an integer from a frame and redirect it to an appropriate decoder. For example, you could create a ProtobufDecoder for each message type and let this handler choose which decoder to use. You can even mix various decoder implementations with this approach. |

Motivation:
ReferenceCountedOpenSslEngine is careful to lock access to `ssl`
almost everywhere (manually verified) *except* in the constructor.
Since `ssl` is non-final, it does not enjoy automatic thread safety
of the code that uses it. Specifically, that means netty tcnative
code is not thread safe.
Modifications:
Ensure that all ssl engine intialization and variables related to
it are properly synchronized by adding in the constructor.
Result:
Less noisy race detector.

Motivation:
ReferenceCountedOpenSslEngine is careful to lock access to `ssl`
almost everywhere (manually verified) *except* in the constructor.
Since `ssl` is non-final, it does not enjoy automatic thread safety
of the code that uses it. Specifically, that means netty tcnative
code is not thread safe.
Modifications:
Ensure that all ssl engine intialization and variables related to
it are properly synchronized by adding in the constructor.
Result:
Less noisy race detector.

Motivation:
ReferenceCountedOpenSslEngine is careful to lock access to `ssl`
almost everywhere (manually verified) *except* in the constructor.
Since `ssl` is non-final, it does not enjoy automatic thread safety
of the code that uses it. Specifically, that means netty tcnative
code is not thread safe.
Modifications:
Ensure that all ssl engine intialization and variables related to
it are properly synchronized by adding in the constructor.
Result:
Less noisy race detector.

Motivation: RFC 6455 defines that, generally, a WebSocket client should not close a TCP connection as far as a server is the one who's responsible for doing that. In practice tho', it's not always possible to control the server. Server's misbehavior may lead to connections being leaked (if the server does not comply with the RFC). RFC 6455 netty#7.1.1 says > In abnormal cases (such as not having received a TCP Close from the server after a reasonable amount of time) a client MAY initiate the TCP Close. Modifications: * WebSocket client handshaker additional param `forceCloseAfterMillis` * Switched of by default to keep backward compatibility Result: WebSocket client handshaker to comply with RFC. Fixes netty#8883.

begin exiting and set 'started' to false, more work to be scheduled
which starts a new TaskRunner, that work then needs to schedule
additional work which modifies 'scheduledTaskQueue', and then the
original TaskRunner checks 'scheduledTaskQueue'. But there is no danger
to this race as it can only produce a false negative in the condition
which causes the code to CAS 'started' which is thread-safe.
Modifications:
Delete problematic references to scheduledTaskQueue. The only way
scheduledTaskQueue could be modified since the last check is if another
TaskRunner is running, in which case the current TaskRunner doesn't
care.
Result:
Data-race free code, and a bit less code to boot.

To trigger it requires a TaskRunner to begin exiting and set 'started' to false, more work to be scheduled which starts a new TaskRunner, that work then needs to schedule additional work which modifies 'scheduledTaskQueue', and then the original TaskRunner checks 'scheduledTaskQueue'. But there is no danger to this race as it can only produce a false negative in the condition which causes the code to CAS 'started' which is thread-safe. Modifications: Delete problematic references to scheduledTaskQueue. The only way scheduledTaskQueue could be modified since the last check is if another TaskRunner is running, in which case the current TaskRunner doesn't care. Result: Data-race free code, and a bit less code to boot.

Motivation:
ReferenceCountedOpenSslEngine is careful to lock access to `ssl`
almost everywhere (manually verified) *except* in the constructor.
Since `ssl` is non-final, it does not enjoy automatic thread safety
of the code that uses it. Specifically, that means netty tcnative
code is not thread safe.
Modifications:
Ensure that all ssl engine intialization and variables related to
it are properly synchronized by adding in the constructor.
Result:
Less noisy race detector.

…and streams (netty#7) Motivation: To make it easier for people to setup handlers for quic channels and its accepted streams we should provide a constructor that takes two handlers. Modifications: Add extra constructor and adjust example to show how to use it. Result: Easier setup of pipelines
