With last year's firmware update, kobo's default UI can wake from sleep if you press a page turn button.

The sensor for my klc is broken and improperly detects cover open/close (and support decided to pay out the warranty rather than offer to fix). The PR I made for this (soon to be attached) replicates the behavior that let's the device wake from sleep with the page turn buttons.
