DirectMeds serves patients who struggle to afford prescriptions by offering lower-cost medications and online doctor appointments.

Sole engineer on a full rebuild of the mobile app using Laravel, Livewire, and NativePHP — achieving feature parity with the existing iOS app in under one week.
Surpassed the progress of the parallel Android app effort and extended the platform by migrating features previously only available on the web (built in a separate stack) into the unified native app.

2020 – Present

Independent consultancy serving 9 clients across SaaS, e-commerce, and API integrations.

Fathom Analytics

Refactored the Fathom Analytics dashboard and marketing site from a custom-built style system to Tailwind CSS, completing the migration in under 38 hours with no disruption to the existing product.

CablesAndKits

Led a multi-year incremental modernization of several 20-year-old legacy PHP applications, upgrading PHP versions and gradually introducing Laravel without disrupting production.
Approach: introduced routing first, manually wired Laravel into the existing pipeline to make its tooling available across the app, then progressively built out Eloquent models, migrated to Laravel sessions, added Horizon for queue management, and built out a comprehensive test suite.
Outcomes: significantly reduced bugs and improved monitoring/visibility, established a clearly defined architecture that new developers can adopt quickly, and meaningfully reduced the overhead of future feature development.

November 2019 – March 2023

ShootProof provided professional online services to photographers: photo storage, online galleries, invoicing, payment processing, and scheduling.

Architected and delivered a complete payment system overhaul for the Táve product, replacing a legacy Braintree integration with modern Square and Stripe integrations — handling $10M+ in annual client payment volume.
Added tipping functionality, ACH support, and additional payment improvements, enabling Táve to reduce processing fees and earn incremental revenue through payment processor partner programs.
Hand-picked to serve on an emergency security response team when a critical exploit was discovered in the application. Worked around the clock alongside the engineering manager as the second-leading contributor to the fix, resolving the vulnerability rapidly.

February 2016 – November 2019

CablesAndKits is an e-commerce retailer specializing in networking and AV cables and equipment.

Delivered bug fixes and feature development across the company's e-commerce platform built on legacy PHP, JavaScript/jQuery, and CSS.
Led a web store redesign that modernized the customer experience — shipping a cart flyout, improved category pages, and a streamlined checkout flow.
(Later returned as a freelance consultant to lead the full Laravel modernization of these same applications — see Jane Street Digital above.)

Co-organizer, AtlantaPHP — helping run one of the Southeast's active PHP meetup communities.
Creator, PHPxATL — founded a PHP-focused event series in Atlanta, which was later merged into the long-running AtlantaPHP meetup.
