LGTM! Also, sorry I never got back to you on how to test this. I started looking on it and then got distracted. I like your approach though.

This fixes Dart-Code/Dart-Code#3837 by ensuring the
--[no-]multidexvalue (and default) are honoured when using--machine.(Originally opened at #99010, but I had to re-create my fork which seems to have broken that PR).
