Version
v2.53.0
Description
The current file selection logic is counter-intuitive. Once I select a file (entering "Selection Mode"), clicking or tapping on the empty black background area does NOT deselect the files. This is especially frustrating on mobile devices where there is no ESC key.
What did you expect to happen?
I expected that clicking/tapping anywhere on the empty background area would clear the selection and exit Selection Mode. This is standard behavior in macOS Finder, Windows Explorer, and Google Drive.
What actually happened?
Nothing happens when clicking the background. The files remain selected. I am forced to click the small "check" icon in the top-right corner to cancel the selection, which is not intuitive.
Reproduction Steps
- Open FileBrowser on a mobile device or desktop. 2. Select a file or folder (e.g., long press on mobile). 3. Click/Tap on the empty black background area. 4. Observe that the file is still selected.
