Summary

Resolves #186334.
(See #187923 and #188037.)

Updates the documentation to have a message that search sessions are deprecated and will be removed.

That LGTM! Thanks for specifying this. I added backport labels as this sounds to be relevant since 8.15?

I'll let you merge just in case my assumption above was incorrect.

Looks like this PR has backport PRs but they still haven't been merged. Please merge them ASAP to keep the branches relatively in sync.
