Transient settings have been around in Elasticsearch for a while and as such are likely widely used. These type of settings have recently been deprecated to allow for their eventual removal.

Given how widely used these type of setting is used, it would be ideal if there was some dedicated documentation to help the user understand exactly how to update their workflows to use persistent settings instead.
