This issue has been moved from a ticket on Developer Community.
The "Value Tracking" toolwindow continues to use and work with files from a solution that was already closed, or even when a new solution was loaded.
To repro, select a variable or parameter from any C# file in your solution, right click, select "Track Value Source", navigate the "Value Tracking" tool window and then close/change solution. The feature continues to use the files and references from the already closed solution, until selecting a new variable to track.
