Critical multi-day meeting display issues #15719

Describe the bug

When I visit a meeting that stretches for multiple days, I encounter many issues that are really confusing. Let's take a look at this event on nightly, which has the start date 03.05.2025, 13:00 and end date 19.11.2026, 18:00.

The event is displayed like this:

Image

The following things are suboptimal or simply wrong:

  • Only the year of the start date is displayed, giving the impression the event ends in 2025
  • The time is displayed as a span, suggesting the event takes place only on one day
  • There is an AM/PM indication on a 24h clock, which does not make sense
  • There is a time zone indication which really only makes sense on platforms used in a transnational/international context.

To Reproduce

  1. Visit: https://nightly.decidim.org/assemblies/neighborhoods/f/55/meetings/13?locale=en
  2. See all errors

Expected behavior

The current layout works well for single day events, except for the AM/PM and time zone parts.

I would improve the following things:

  • Remove AM/PM indications on 24h clocks
  • display time zones only when the indicated time is different from the one used by the user
  • If the meeting stretches for multiple days, display the date before the time in the span (3. May 2025, 13:00 – 19. November 2026, 18:00)
  • display two individual calendar fields for the dates, each containing the corresponding year
