Hello

CotEditor is great!

I mostly use it to write markdown. Thus I have selected this syntax option in Preferences/Format/Default syntax.

What I have not been able to change is the default extension at first save. It is always .txt rathe than *.md

By default then, syntax highlight is not operational.

Having to change the extension at each 1st save or, worst, having to modify it after saving is mildly cumbersome.

Is there a way to change the default file extension please? Thanks

My setup is macOs 15.7.4 — CotEditor Version 6.2.4 (794)
