Looking at the test output,

fatal: Not a valid object name main

I think that’s unrelated and it comes from hack/git-validation.sh; can you double-check, please? If so, that seems worth at least filing an issue.

Yes, it comes from hack/git-validation.sh. I created an issue: #2067
