The documentation in docs/explanation/core/configuration.md has probably became redundant with the introduction of the Configuration reference manual.

Definition of Done:

• Replace docs/explanation/core/configuration.md content by a pointer to the configuration manual
• Consider moving some of the observations there contained to the configuration manual
