Fixes #4731
Fixes #1389

Now that codespace commands have moved away from liveshare we can stop using our forked version of the crypto package!

Builds fine. I don't know whether #8149 actually works but if it doesn't then we'd just revert both of these together so doesn't seem like a risky change to include.

Thanks for this fix. Any chance we could get a new release?

I'd like to use the go run github.com/cli/cli/v2/cmd/gh@latest -h in a Makefile so teammates will automatically download the gh CLI, but when there's a replace it doesn't work:

go: github.com/cli/cli/v2/cmd/gh@latest (in github.com/cli/cli/v2@v2.37.0):
        The go.mod file for the module providing named packages contains one or
        more replace directives. It must not contain directives that would cause
        it to be interpreted differently than if it were the main module.

The following works:

go run github.com/cli/cli/v2/cmd/gh@trunk -h
Work seamlessly with GitHub from the command line.

Hey @matthewmueller, we release on about a 2 week schedule so as to not overwhelm our users with updates. Next release would land around Tuesday 31st. Maybe in the meantime you could pin to the merged commit sha if you're worried about extra changes landing in trunk?
