What's Wrong?
On approximately February 7, 2026, my Pro subscription was revoked and $20 in available credits were removed from my account (brownjuly2003@gmail.com). I received a generic email stating that an "internal investigation of suspicious signals" found a violation of the Usage Policy, and my access to Claude was revoked.
However, my account was not fully banned — I can still log in and use Claude on the free tier. Only the Pro subscription and credits were removed.
Before the incident:
Pro plan (Monthly), auto-renew on Mar 3, 2026
Mastercard ••••8969 on file
Credit available: $20
Extra usage balance: $50.00
Invoices: Jan 3, 2026 ($10.00 Paid), Feb 3, 2026 ($10.00 Paid)
After the incident:
Pro subscription removed
$20 credits removed
$50 extra usage balance removed
Account downgraded to free tier
No specific violation cited
What Should Happen?
If a specific Usage Policy violation occurred, Anthropic should identify the exact provision that was violated.
If this was triggered by an automated fraud detection system due to payment patterns, the subscription and credits should be restored after review.
Users should not lose paid credits and subscription without a clear explanation of what rule was broken.
Context
I recently relocated internationally to Chile (a supported country) and have been between jobs. Friends helped me with subscription payments, which resulted in charges from different cards. This may have triggered an automated fraud flag, but it does not constitute a Usage Policy or Terms of Service violation.
I have carefully reviewed both the Consumer Terms of Service and the Usage Policy in full. Neither document prohibits:
Payment by a third party
Use of different payment cards
Receiving help with subscription payments
Actions Taken
Submitted the official Account Ban Appeal form
Sent email to support@anthropic.com
No response received yet

Hi @AnthropicAI, my Pro subscription and $20 in credits were revoked
from my account without explanation. I received a generic "Usage Policy
violation" email but after reviewing the full Terms of Service and
Usage Policy, I cannot identify what I violated.
I'm a legitimate user based in Chile, using Claude daily for
professional data analytics work. I've submitted an appeal form
and emailed support but haven't heard back.
I'd appreciate if someone from the Trust & Safety team could
review my case. Similar billing issues have been reported by
other users (GitHub #23674, #12118, #5088).

Subject: Follow-up: Pro subscription and credits revoked — brownjuly2003@gmail.com
Hello Anthropic Support Team,
I am following up on my earlier appeal submitted via the official form.
My situation: my Pro subscription and $20 in credits were revoked from
my account (brownjuly2003@gmail.com). I received an email citing a
Usage Policy violation, but my account was not fully banned — I can
still log in.
I have reviewed both the Consumer Terms of Service and the Usage Policy
in full, and I cannot identify which specific provision was violated.
My use of Claude has been entirely professional — data analytics,
SQL/Python coding, and business documentation.
The only unusual aspect of my account is payment-related: I recently
relocated to Chile and have been between jobs, so friends helped me
with subscription payments. This resulted in charges from different
cards and regions. I understand this may have triggered an automated
flag, but this is not a policy violation.
I respectfully request that you either:
- Restore my Pro subscription and credits, or
- Specify the exact provision of the Terms of Service or Usage Policy
that was violated.
Thank you for your time.
Best regards,
July
