Describe the bug
Searching for any term on the discussion forum returns 'no threads match your search criteria'

This probably broke recently.

Expected behavior
Searches for exact phrase matches worked in the recent past.

(NOTE: Search was never great for partial matches, and search result formatting needs improvement)

Additional context

We MUST add some basic tests for forum search so we avoid breaking search completely in the future.
