Objective
The purpose of this feature is to enable EU (European Union) member countries to enable automated EpiPulse data export functionality directly into their existing SORMAS platform to streamline the reporting process and ensure compliance with EU reporting requirements.
Background
Epipulse platform
EpiPulse is the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control's integrated surveillance platform that enables EU/EEA member states to report communicable disease data in a stand-ardized format. The platform serves as the central hub for European epidemiological surveillance, supporting:
- Standardized Data Collection: Ensures consistent data format across all member states
- Real-time Surveillance: Enables prompt detection and response to public health threats
- Cross-border Coordination: Facilitates information sharing between member states
- Outbreak Management: Supports coordinated response to multi-country outbreaks
Information is reported by uploading disease specific CSV files prepared by each member state formatted in accordance with a ECDC maintained Metadata document. This Metadata document describes and explains the specifications for the CSV files to be uploaded.
Metadata document
The EpiPulse CasesMetadata file is a comprehensive technical specification document that de-fines the exact data requirements for European Union member states to report communicable disease surveillance data to the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC). This metadata document is essential for ensuring that the SORMAS system can accurately and completely export surveillance data in the exact format required by ECDC's EpiPulse platform, maintaining data quality and regulatory compliance across the European disease surveil-lance network.
This epic will deliver a fully integrated Epipulse export functionality within SORMAS. Specifically:
